Dark Ocean

Cheyenne

Cheyenne 01.jpg

Basic Description: One of three thousand female offspring of Oceanus and Tethys (Titans), she is the patron spirit of the River Hidon, but only as it passes through the Meerut District. Cursed by her siblings for her forbidden love affair with a human, she became bound to only a small section of the river whole. To escape her confinement, the Oceanid had to bind herself to a living, human host. Once completed, she was able to travel as the host traveled, only appearing as herself when she felt it was necessary. Upon death of the host, the Oceanid will be immediately returned to the Hidon River as it passes through Meerut.

Abilities:
Siren's Song - Able to manipulate the actions of sailors with only the melody of voice. It only has an affect if they are on or near her particular body of water.

Wellspring - Able to create both fresh and sea water from nothing.

Longevity - As a spirit, the Oceanid will live for millennia to come. As bound to a foreign host, the Oceanid's lifespan was drastically reduced. As a lycanthrope, the Oceanid's Earth-bound lifespan could last hundreds of years before she is forced to return to her imprisonment.

Strength - Increased physical strength in or near (within 500ft of) any natural-forming body of water.

Healing - Can use fresh water and personal, magical properties to create an aqua tonic that can increase rate of healing for minor injuries. Only works on humans.

Shapeshifting - Can change the host's appearance to that of her own countenance. Only does so when assuming control of the vessel.

Weaknesses:
Arid Climates - Being in hot, dry parts of the world drains the Oceanid's energy and magical abilities.

The Sun - Daylight, daytime, sunny days, and particularly the season of Summer - in any area of the world - will sap the Oceanid's energy and magic. How much she is affected varies depending on Earthly location and proximity to bodies of water.

Fire - Being near (within 100ft of) the element of fire (whether magical or naturally occurring) will render the Oceanid magically impotent.

The Host - When not presenting as herself, the Oceanid is susceptible to all diseases, illnesses, and injuries that may befall her host. Death of the host will return the Oceanid to her prison.
